Dear friends of African missions,
God has blessed His work here in Africa in a great way during this report period with 1,158 professions of faith in Christ, 974 Baptisms and the organization of 7 new churches! Much of our time has been spent back in East Africa and we believe that it was time well spent. This was our first long term sojourn back in Kenya since the violence last January and February, and it was good to be able to encourage, advise and mourn with those with whom we spent so many years.
...One of the big blessings of the violence and clashes is that, as people were driven from there home areas and churches they “went everywhere preaching the word”.  As a result of that, not only was the Gospel proclaimed in new areas, and people saved as a result, but opportunities to start new churches in those areas also abounded.  I baptized so many people in the first few weeks (in water that was barely deep enough) that I pulled my back out of place and spent couple of days unable to stand. A bit painful but definitely worth it!

JOEL & JENNA COBBS
In the last report Joel mentioned the snake problem he is facing and his dream of having a "snake rifle" (air rifle) to deal with the critters.  Thanks for the great, quick response.  The new rifle is pictured above and the results pictured below with a four foot long puff adder.
